As early as the 18th century timestamped proof of authorship was achieved by using the postal service or the telegram.

In modern days bureaucracy has been a necessary evil, as the price associated with effective and legal support has sometime acted a s a barrier.

Blockchain Time Stamp

The advent of Blockchain technology enables authors to create an almost instantaneous and irrefutable proof of authorship.

A blockchain, originally block chain is a growing list of records, called blocks, that are linked using cryptography. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data.

By design, a blockchain is resistant to the modification of the data. It is "an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way. Thanks to this property, it it's quickly becoming the tool of choice for copyright protection time stamped certification.
